Description
The Integrated Primary Prevention program, part of the Air Force's Research, Development, Test & Evaluation efforts, focuses on implementing recommendations from the Independent Review Committee on Sexual Assaults. It aims to enhance the Air Force's capabilities in preventing and responding to sexual offenses and interpersonal violence. A key component is the development of the Office of Special Investigations (OSI) Records, Investigations, and Operations Network (ORION), a cloud-based case management system designed to streamline data collection and analysis related to these offenses.
ORION is set to modernize the Department of the Air Force's criminal indexing processes by reducing redundancy and improving data integration across various systems. This system will be utilized by over 3,000 OSI personnel globally, providing a centralized platform for documenting and managing investigations. It leverages cloud computing for scalability and security and is built on a low-code/no-code platform to facilitate rapid development and deployment. Additionally, ORION aims to enhance operational efficiency by enabling mobile access for agents in the field.
The Air Force Integrated Resilience Office leads efforts in Interpersonal Self-Directed Violence Prevention (ISDV), focusing on research and development to prevent incidents such as sexual assault, domestic violence, and suicide. This includes initiatives like a machine learning initiative for trend analysis, a community prevention platform for tracking community action plans, and modernized training programs using virtual reality. These efforts are designed to improve prevention strategies at both organizational and community levels through enhanced education, training, and data analysis.
The Integrated Primary Prevention program seeks to implement advanced technologies and methodologies to address complex issues related to sexual assault prevention within the Air Force. By leveraging innovative solutions like ORION and ISDV initiatives, it aims to create a more effective framework for preventing interpersonal violence while ensuring comprehensive documentation and evaluation of prevention strategies across the force.
