Description
Global Combat Support System - Marine Corps/Logistics Chain Management (GCSS-MC/LCM), is a procurement initiative under the Navy's budget activity for Communications and Electronics Equipment. The primary goal of this program is to provide the Marine Corps with a modern, commercial-off-the-shelf enterprise resource planning software (Oracle e-Business Suite) that serves as the backbone for all logistics information required by Marine Forces and the Supporting Establishment. This technology enables the warfighter to operate while deployed with reach back to Garrison from the battlefield and supports approximately 25,000 users worldwide. The program's objectives include enhancing capabilities in areas such as warehousing, distribution, logistics planning, decision support, depot maintenance, and integration with emerging technologies to improve asset visibility.
The FY 2024 Base Appropriation Request for Program 4616 is $4.144 million, representing an increase of $2.481 million from FY 2023. This funding will continue to support the ongoing need for technology refresh of hardware and software for the major logistics hubs in support of the sustainment of GCSS-MC/LCM Increment 1. The program's specific focus is on ensuring that the Marine Corps has access to modern, efficient logistics information systems that enable effective operations both in deployed environments and at home bases.
