CMS Virtual Data Center (CMS VDC)

Provide CMS with infrastructure outsourcing and managed services necessary to deliver application hosting, data center engineering and consolidation, IT infrastructure modernization and transformation services. CMS is looking to use the VDC contract to consolidate more than 50 separate data centers and provide improved business continuance for critical applications. CMS plans to use the VDC contract to increase their agility and flexibility in responding to new workloads and to leverage increased virtualization and cloud computing technology to modernize their IT environment. Their goals are to reduce cost, deliver improved energy efficiency, improve interoperability between data centers through increased use of standardized process and procedures and remove IT infrastructure as a constraint to business growth.
