Sub Description
"National Campaign to Prevent Teen and Unplanned Pregnancy involvement: Assist in the development of campaign messaging and target strategies. These messages should address a need with parents and fill a gap in available resources. Assist in determining the new and non-duplicative contributions that OAH can make to the field through this effort. Develop approximately eight to ten scripts describing parent/guardian and adolescent communication for use in role playing videos to be used as part of the campaign website. Scripts should be based on research and new data in the field. The National Campaign is not responsible for video taping activities. Lead the development of written content for two to three resources for use by parents following conversations with parents/guardians about topics such as sex, sexuality, pregnancy prevention, HIV/AIDS and STDs, and so forth. These resources will supplement the conversations that parents have with their adolescents and can be information-based and/or activities to be used by the adolescents. The National Campaign is not responsible for designing the materials. This information will be used as part of the campaign and may be posted on the OAH website. Provide feedback and information towards the ICF development of a train-the-trainer module focusing on increasing parent communication skills. The train-the-trainer module will be used in select communities nationwide during Contract Year 2. These train-the-trainer events, which will be managed by campaign NGOs, will prepare local community leaders to engage with and equip parents to be effective communicators. The National Campaign's involvement could include providing content, feedback, ins ight and recommendations. Identify and engage thr ee to five training experts working as agents of The National Campaign to provide feedback on training materials. They will also identify and train community based organizations (CBOs) utilizing the campaign training module when those materials are developed and ready for roll out during contract year 2. These experts will be hired and managed by The National Campaign and will offer expertise and feedback during contract year 1. The National Campaign should plan to involve the exper ts beginning in May 2011. Help to expand visibility of campaign . o Possible inclusion of OAH campaign information in The National Day to Prevent Teen Pregnancy, held annually each May. The National Campaign will take the lead in scheduling a meeting with ICF and possibly OAH to discuss possible involvement in The National Day to Prevent Teen Pregnancy. o Engage with other partners and encourage them to link to the campaign website. Cross post and cross-reference materials on The National Campaign's website, as appropriate. o Introduce stakeholders to the campaign and encourage them to introduce the campaign to their networks. o Distribute campaign materials on The National Campaign website and through other online and grassroots efforts. Help to facilitate One-day Discussion Meeting. o Help to shape and provide feedback for the agenda. o Lead workshops and participate in plenary and breakout sessions. Provide presentations on trends and research in parent communication, teen pregnancy prevention, sex and sexuality. Facilitate small group discussions. o Suggest expert speakers and potential invitees. Staff and experts working with The National Campaign will provide ongoing feedback and keep ICF and OAH staff apprised of new developments and research in the field. Increase awareness about other O AH programs and initiatives. Specific activities to be agreed upon by The National Campaign, OAH and ICF but might include attendance or pr esentations at events, links to OAH Website, materials dissemination to specific audiences, assisting with agenda development, workshop facilitation, etc. Provide feedback and infor mation to ICF towards the development of a dissemination strategy to reach parents
