Valve Boxes

Background
The City of Madison's Finance Department, under the direction of Finance Director David P. Schmiedicke, is issuing a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for Valve Boxes. This solicitation is part of the operations of the Water Utility agency, which aims to procure necessary materials to support its infrastructure and services.

Work Details
The contract involves supplying Valve Boxes with specific material and design requirements. The valve box components must be tar-coated cast iron on both inside and outside surfaces, and they should be three-piece screw-type assemblies. Each order must include all associated hardware such as glands, rubber components, bolts, etc. The specifications include:

- Furnishing complete 'Valve Box Sets' unless otherwise specified (e.g., providing a complete set except for the base section).
- A No. 6 style round base and a 5 ¼” shaft.
- The bottom section must have internal threads for extension use.
- 'Stay-Put' style covers marked 'WATER'.
- Valve Box Covers/Lids should be smooth bore, round, standard drop-in lids without grooves or ridges.
- Acceptable models include Bingham and Taylor 4905-L1-5 and Bingham and Taylor size 'DD' (50” to 70”).
- Paving adaptors required are Bingham and Taylor 6030 fully threaded screw type Rite Hite Adaptor.

Period of Performance
The contract period begins upon award of the bid and continues through the duration of the purchasing agreement as specified in the bid documents.

The delivery location for the valve boxes is Madison Water Utility at 110 S. Paterson Street, Madison, WI 53703.
