Yakima County Solar Panel Project

Background
Yakima County is seeking proposals for the design and installation of roof-mounted solar panels on ten (10) Yakima County buildings as part of the Yakima County Solar Energy Project. The project aims to enhance renewable energy usage within the county, aligning with broader sustainability goals.

The agency responsible for this project is Yakima County Facilities Services, which oversees various public works initiatives.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for the design, procurement, and installation of photovoltaic (PV) solar systems totaling 1,423 kW DC across ten locations:

1. Yakima County Courthouse: 128 N. 2nd Street, Yakima, WA 98901 - Five PV installations totaling 645.2 kW DC.
2. Yakima County Jail & Annex: 111 N. Front Street, Yakima, WA 98901 - One PV installation totaling 172.1 kW DC.
3. General Administration Building: 104 N. Front Street, Yakima, WA 98901 - One PV installation totaling 172.1 kW DC.
4. Technology Services Building: 217 N. 1st Street, Yakima, WA 98901 - One PV installation totaling 172.1 kW DC.
5. Facilities Services Building: 18 E. Lincoln Avenue, Yakima, WA 98901 - One PV installation totaling no less than 100 kW AC / 172.14 kW DC with a budget not exceeding $393,490.00 using Silfab modules and SolarEdge equipment.

The remaining buildings include:
- Yakima County Corrections Center (1500 Pacific Avenue)
- Juvenile Justice Center (1728 Jerome Avenue)
- Resource Center (2403 S. 18th Street)
- Sheriff’s Office Precinct (715 Fountain Boulevard)
- Road Maintenance Shop (1216 S. 18th Street).

Each site has specific capacity requirements and budget constraints outlined in the RFP.

Period of Performance
The contract period begins upon approval estimated on March 4, 2025, with substantial completion targeted for November 1, 2025.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at various locations in Yakima County including the Courthouse Complex in downtown Yakima and other specified facilities throughout the county.
