Background
The Yakima County Courthouse Superior Court is undertaking a renovation and remodel project for the existing courtrooms located on the third floor. The goal of this project is to reconfigure and renovate the courtrooms, judge rooms, and court administration areas while keeping the court operational during the remodeling process. The building footprint will remain unchanged, and no site work is included in this project.

Work Details
The scope of work includes the following:

1. Renovation of existing courtrooms, judge rooms, and administrative spaces on the third floor.

2. Reconfiguration of utilities as necessary for the remodel.

3. Selective demolition of existing structures including:
- Existing walls where indicated to structure.
- Existing windows and hollow metal door frames to be demolished and infilled as required.
- Demolition of raised platforms, partial height walls, casework, carpet, rubber base, and acoustic wall panels throughout the affected areas.

4. Installation of new construction elements including:
- New metal stud walls dimensioned to centerline of wall assembly.
- New finishes to align with existing wall finishes on both sides.

5. Salvaging existing fixtures such as benches and restroom accessories for reuse in new configurations.

Period of Performance
The project is scheduled to commence on October 19, 2024, with specific phases outlined for completion over a designated timeframe that allows for continued court operations.

The work will be performed at the Yakima County Courthouse located at 128 N 2nd St., Yakima, Washington 98901.
