EvCC Baker Hall Replacement

Background
The State of Washington's Department of Enterprise Services is issuing a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for design and construction services for the Baker Hall Replacement and Demolition project at Everett Community College (EvCC). Founded in 1941, EvCC serves approximately 15,000 students annually, providing education in various fields including advanced manufacturing, healthcare, arts, engineering, and business.

The goal of this contract is to select an architect to design a new instructional facility that will replace the existing Baker Hall.

Work Details
The scope of work includes selecting an architect for design and construction services from Schematic Design through Closeout. The new Baker Hall will house programs for Cosmetology, Computer Information Systems, and Theatre.

Specific tasks include:
- Construction of classrooms and labs
- Faculty and department offices
- A Black Box-style theater with support facilities
- A cosmetology classroom replicating a commercial salon
- Informal shared spaces
- Necessary building service functions

Site development will involve relocating existing utilities and improving parking. After the new building is completed on EvCC’s East Campus, the existing structure on the West Campus will be demolished with landscaping restored to match surrounding areas.

Period of Performance
The anticipated timeline for selection includes:
- RFQ notice issued on December 3, 2024
- Informational meeting on December 17, 2024
- Statement of Qualifications due by January 14, 2025
- Shortlisted firms notified by January 20, 2025
- Interviews during the week of February 3, 2025
- Agreements executed by early March 2025.

Place of Performance
The project will be performed at Everett Community College located at 2000 Tower Street, Everett, WA 98201.
