RFP 32141 Non-Emergency Medical Transport (NEMT) Brokerage Services

Background
The Department of Medical Assistance Services (DMAS) is the single State agency in Virginia that administers the Medicaid program and the Children’s Health Insurance Program (FAMIS). These programs provide high-quality, cost-effective healthcare services to qualifying individuals.

This Request for Proposal (RFP) aims to solicit proposals for Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) Brokerage Services under a Fee-For-Service delivery system, with the goal of improving transportation access for Medicaid members who require assistance getting to medical appointments.

Work Details
The selected Supplier will provide comprehensive NEMT brokerage services, which include:

- Managing transportation logistics for eligible Medicaid members.
- Ensuring timely and safe transport to covered medical services.
- Utilizing innovative technologies such as Interactive Voice Response (IVR) systems and Computer Assisted Dispatching Software (CAD).
- Maintaining compliance with federal and state regulations.

The Supplier is expected to demonstrate substantial knowledge of Medicaid issues and propose enhancements that improve service delivery while balancing fiscal responsibilities.

Period of Performance
The contract will commence upon award and is expected to last for a period defined in the final agreement, with ongoing evaluations to ensure service effectiveness and compliance.

Place of Performance
Services will be performed statewide in Virginia, specifically targeting areas where Medicaid members reside and require transportation services.
