Replacement of Softball Field Lighting

Background
The County of Northampton, Virginia is seeking quotes for the replacement of existing metal halide sports field lighting with LED lighting at the Northampton County Parks & Recreation softball field located at Indiantown Park.
This initiative aims to enhance the lighting quality and energy efficiency of the sports facility.

Work Details
The successful vendor will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Demo and remove existing light fixtures and supports down to bare pole, ensuring that the existing concrete pole remains intact.
- Remove wire from each pole down to junction at ground level.
- Install new LED sports field lighting, including new supports as required to achieve equivalent lighting coverage as existing lights (coverage area, lumens, etc.). Each of the existing 6 poles has 3-4 light fixtures, each utilizing 1500 W metal halide lighting.
- Rewire each pole by connecting to the existing circuit at the junction at the base of each pole to power each new set of light fixtures. Each pole operates on an individual 60 Amp, 240 Volt circuit; amperage and wire size may be reduced appropriately to accommodate the reduced amperage of the new LED lights.
- No heavy equipment or vehicles shall be allowed on the field; work must be completed from a manlift stationed outside of the fenced-in field.

Period of Performance
The contract work is expected to be completed by February 26, 2025.

The work will be performed at Indiantown Park, located at 7399 Indiantown Rd, Cape Charles, VA 23310.
