R24-009 Elevator Maintenance and Repair Services

Background
Radford University is a comprehensive public university with 7,718 students, known for its strong faculty/student bonds, innovative use of technology, and vibrant student life. The university offers a clinical-based educational experience in Roanoke and degree programs at various education centers. The university currently has 52 elevators and two lift elevators that require full maintenance and repair services. The elevators are crucial for housing students with disabilities, making it imperative to keep all elevators in working condition at all times.

Work Details
The contractor is responsible for providing elevator preventative maintenance and repair services to Radford University. This includes ongoing preventive maintenance program for all elevators, responding to service calls within two hours, providing written documentation after each visit, obtaining and maintaining all necessary licenses and permits, and providing recommendations, technical assistance, specifications, and cost analysis of upgrades to the elevators.
The contractor should also perform semi-annual and annual inspection services for all elevators and perform five-year load testing on all traction and hybrid elevators as well as any inspection services required for compliance.

Period of Performance
The term of the contract is for two years with an option for three one-year renewals. The contractor will be responsible for repairs to the elevators including obsolete or outdated parts. The average full maintenance spend over the previous three-year period is approximately $170,000.00.
