PRTC Manhole Replacement

Background
The Potomac and Rappahannock Transportation Commission (PRTC) is seeking a contractor to replace a corroded manhole riser and manhole cover above ground oil/water separator system in the Transit Center bus yard located at 14700 Potomac Mills Road, Woodbridge, VA 22192. Work Details
The scope of work includes the demolition of concrete around a 48” diameter grade level manhole, including obtaining licenses and notifications in accordance with local regulating office standard procedures for installation and removal of underground storage tank grade level manholes, Miss utility markings, saw cutting the perimeter of slab to be removed, demolition and disposal of concrete and a bollard as necessary to replace the existing manhole. It also involves the salvage of bollard cover and set aside for reuse.
Additionally, it requires the replacement of a 48” diameter access rise through excavation, removal, and disposal of old corrugated manhole riser, installation of new galvanized corrugated manhole riser, and backfilling of excavation utilizing existing soils to subgrade. The installation of new concrete involves furnishing and installing 6 inches of #57 stone, #5 dowels minimum 6” into existing slab in a staggard, top-bottom pattern set with epoxy (Simpson AT-XP or equivalent), setting one new 8” steel pipe bollard, placement of a new grade level manhole, setting one mat of #5 rebar at 12” on center each direction throughout the area of repair, furnishing and installing 11 yards of 5,000 psi air-entrained concrete to reform slab and infill bollard, finishing new pour to match existing slab, and reinstalling salvaged bollard cover.
