ORF Egress Stair Refurbishment Concourses A & B

Background
The Norfolk International Airport (ORF) is undertaking a project for the refurbishment of egress stairs located in Concourses A and B. The goal of this contract is to enhance safety and accessibility by renovating approximately 18 stairwells on the airport's airside concourses.

These renovations are part of the Capital Improvement Program aimed at maintaining and improving airport infrastructure.

Work Details
The scope of work includes:
- Renovation of various existing egress stairwells in Concourses A & B, which includes:
- Updating egress door hardware and painting existing doors.
- Replacing all flooring treads and rubber base materials.
- Patching, repairing, and painting all existing walls and ceilings.
- Replacing handrails and painting existing guard rails and stringers.
- Replacing existing lighting fixtures at their current locations.
- Replacing existing wall-mounted heaters and providing new ceiling-mounted heaters.
- Replacing existing sprinkler heads and exit signs.
- Complete replacement of exterior doors where necessary, including refinishing damaged exterior block adjacent to these doors.

The contractor must handle any hazardous materials as specified in the project manual, including asbestos and lead paint, with compliance to relevant technical specifications.

Period of Performance
The maximum construction duration is set at 180 calendar days from the Notice to Proceed (NTP). Work must be completed within this timeframe to avoid liquidated damages of $500 per day.

Place of Performance
All work will be performed on the secure side (airside) of Norfolk International Airport, requiring badged access for all personnel involved in the project.
