Mowing and Grounds Maintenance for Fairfax City Cemetery

Background
The City of Fairfax, Virginia, through its Office of Procurement Services, is seeking to establish a term contract for mowing and grounds maintenance services at the Fairfax City Cemetery.
The intent is to ensure the cemetery, which spans approximately 10 acres, is maintained in a manner that meets community standards and code compliance.
The contractor may also be called upon for on-call mowing services related to code compliance situations.

Work Details
The contractor will provide comprehensive mowing and grounds maintenance services including:
- General cleanup of all areas prior to mowing (trash pickup and disposal).
- Mowing of all grass within the cemetery boundaries on a seven-day cycle during the mowing season (approximately April to November), with an estimated 28 mowings per season.
- Trimming and mechanical edging around gravesites and other structures.
- Removal of heavy or clumped grass clippings after mowing.
- Leaf removal and limited pruning as needed.
- Weed control and removal of clippings from sidewalks, landscaped beds, parking lots, and public ways.
- Periodic mowing of non-compliant private residences as directed by the Fairfax City Fire Department, billed on a time and material basis.
- Response time for service requests must be within five calendar days.

Period of Performance
The contract term will commence upon award and will continue until November 30, 2025.
The contract may be renewed for four successive one-year periods upon mutual agreement.

The services will be performed at the Fairfax City Cemetery located in Fairfax, Virginia.
