M24_2025 Entrance Ramp Extension

Background
The Commonwealth of Virginia, through the Department of Transportation (VDOT), is issuing a contract for the construction of an entrance ramp extension project. This project is located in Loudoun County, Northern Virginia, and aims to enhance transportation infrastructure by extending the entrance ramp from 0.182 miles east of Route 9 to 0.544 miles east of Route 9.

The project is identified under FHWA number STP-5B01(633) and project number 6007-053-198, C501.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for various construction tasks including but not limited to: clearing and grubbing, excavation, installation of drainage systems (including concrete pipes and manholes), asphalt concrete placement, guardrail installation, and traffic control measures.

Specific items include:
- Clearing and grubbing over 1.59 acres.
- Regular excavation totaling approximately 1,745 cubic yards.
- Installation of various drainage components including:
- 24" concrete pipe (18 linear feet).
- Endwalls and manholes.
- Placement of asphalt concrete in multiple types including IM-19.0A, SM-9.5D, and BM-25.0 totaling over 2,000 tons.
- Installation of guardrails and related components.
- Erosion control measures including siltation control and temporary fencing.

Period of Performance
The contract work is expected to commence upon award with a completion date set for May 13, 2026.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed in Loudoun County, Virginia, specifically along Route 6007.
