LU214-25-004 Campus Wide Wood Rot Repairs- Rotunda

Background
The Commonwealth of Virginia, through Longwood University, is issuing an Invitation for Bids (IFB) for the Campus Wide Wood Rot Repairs project at Ruffner Hall. The project aims to address wood rot issues in the building, ensuring its structural integrity and aesthetic appeal. Longwood University is committed to maintaining a safe and functional environment for its students and staff, which necessitates these repairs.

Work Details
The scope of work includes:

1. Replacement of deteriorated pilaster bases (6 each) with proper disposal of removed materials.
2. Replacement of deteriorated column or pilaster capitals (6 each) with proper disposal of removed materials.
3. Replacement of sections of column covers (25 square feet).
4. Replacement of wood railings (25 linear feet), including spindles, bottom, and top railings.
5. Replacement of wood railing spindles (10 each).

All work must adhere to the specifications provided by RRMM Architects dated February 10, 2025.

Period of Performance
The contract period will commence from the date of award and continue until the owner approves the completion of the project. There is a specified substantial completion time frame of 120 consecutive calendar days from the Notice to Proceed.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at Ruffner Hall, Longwood University, located at 201 High Street, Farmville, Virginia.
