King George County Wastewater Improvements

Background
King George County, on behalf of the King George County Service Authority, seeks bids for wastewater improvements to enhance the reliability and efficiency of wastewater services. This project is funded by the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) and aims to comply with applicable standards and regulations.

Work Details
The contractor will provide all labor, materials, equipment, tools, transportation, permits, insurance, and appurtenant work necessary for the King George County Wastewater Improvements. The scope includes:

- Modifications to Hopyard Farms Wastewater Treatment Plant including chemical feed systems for alum and soda ash.
- Decommissioning of Purkins Corner Wastewater Treatment Plant.
- Upgrades to wastewater pump stations.

Specific tasks include:

1. Installation of chemical feed pumps suitable for handling alum and soda ash.
2. Construction of alum and soda ash storage tanks with necessary appurtenances.
3. Demolition and rehabilitation of existing pump stations.
4. Installation of ductile iron piping for sanitary force main systems as per AWWA standards.

Period of Performance
The contract term is 540 days from the date of Notice to Proceed to substantial completion, with an additional 30 days allowed for final completion.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed in King George County, Virginia.
