IFB No. 025-002 PRTC Ceiling Tile and Grid Removal and Replacement

Background
The Potomac and Rappahannock Transportation Commission (PRTC) is a multimodal, multijurisdictional agency located in Prince William County, Virginia, providing local and commuter bus services.

PRTC is soliciting bids for the removal and replacement of ceiling tiles and grids at the PRTC Transit Center to maintain high-quality service and infrastructure. The existing ceiling grid and tiles were installed during the original construction in 1997, and their current condition necessitates a complete replacement.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for:
- Removing existing ceiling tiles and grids;
- Installing new Armstrong 9/16 grid or an approved equivalent;
- Installing new Armstrong Dune ceiling tiles or an approved equivalent;
- Ensuring that the configuration accommodates existing fixtures;
- Staging work to minimize disruption to PRTC staff;
- Maintaining communication in writing;
- Ensuring the ceiling height matches current specifications;
- Providing stabilizer bars as needed;
- Replacing any unsuitable tie wires;
- Protecting existing finishes during work;
- Moving furniture as necessary and returning it post-work;
- Conducting cleanup after each area is completed;
- Securing all required permits and arranging inspections;
- Maintaining a safe construction site compliant with OSHA regulations.

Additionally, the contractor must provide 48 extra ceiling tiles for future replacements.

Period of Performance
The contract will commence upon execution, and all work must be completed by June 30, 2025.

Place of Performance
All work will be performed at the PRTC Transit Center located at 14700 Potomac Mills Road, Woodbridge, Virginia 22192.
