IFB 417 RSWA Bailing Facility

Background
The Rivanna Solid Waste Authority (RSWA) is issuing this Invitation for Bids (IFB) for the construction of a Bailing Facility at the Ivy Solid Waste and Recycling Center in Charlottesville, Virginia. The goal of this contract is to enhance waste management capabilities through the establishment of a new facility that will support the agency's mission to provide efficient and environmentally responsible waste disposal services.

Work Details
The work includes:
- Clearing and grubbing of the site.
- Procurement, transportation, and erection of a 16,800 square foot metal building, including all doors, fixtures, and dock equipment.
- Design, permitting, and installation of electrical services for power to the new building.
- Road grading and installation of gravel and concrete surfaces.
- Installation, inspection, and maintenance of erosion and sediment control measures in phases.
- Earthwork including cut, backfill, and compaction.
- Installation of stormwater features such as berms, channels, culverts, dry swales, and an extended detention pond.
- Installation and stabilization of seed, mulch, and topsoil in areas disturbed by construction.
- Removal of excess soil, stone, debris, fencing.
- Removal of temporary erosion and sediment control measures.

Period of Performance
The contract duration is expected to be 330 consecutive calendar days from the date of commencement specified in the Notice to Proceed. Final completion should be achieved within 30 consecutive calendar days after substantial completion.

The contract will be performed at the Ivy Solid Waste and Recycling Center located at 4576 Dick Woods Road, Charlottesville, VA 22903.
