IFB 25004; Apple Pie Ridge Elementary School Boiler Replacement

Background
The Apple Pie Ridge Elementary School Boiler Replacement project is initiated by Frederick County Public Schools, located at 349 Apple Pie Ridge Road, Winchester, Virginia. The mission of the school district is to provide a safe and conducive learning environment for students. The goal of this contract is to replace two existing boilers with new units, ensuring efficient heating for the school facilities.

Work Details
The project involves the complete removal and replacement in kind of two boilers along with associated pumps and accessories. Specific tasks include:

1. Removal of existing boilers and installation of new units as per specifications prepared by RRMM Architects.

2. Bid Alternate No. 1: Installation of a new floor-mounted side stream for cooling tower supply, including a union and service valve on inlet and outlet to filter unit, connected with 2” piping downstream from pump discharge with a minimum of 24” between inlet and outlet connections.

3. Bid Alternate No. 2: Installation of a new floor-mounted side stream filter for heat pump (condenser) water, including union and service valve on inlet and outlet of filter unit, connected similarly as described in Alternate No. 1.

Period of Performance
The contract work is expected to be substantially complete by August 1, 2025, with full completion required for beneficial occupancy no later than August 29, 2025.

The work will be performed at Apple Pie Ridge Elementary School located at 349 Apple Pie Ridge Road, Winchester, Virginia.
