Background
The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) is issuing this Invitation for Bids (IFB) to procure precast concrete reinforced box units for the Culpeper District Structure and Bridge Section. The goal of this contract is to furnish and deliver these units according to specified drawings and standards, ensuring compliance with VDOT's quality control and assurance programs.

Work Details
The contractor shall design, furnish, and deliver precast concrete reinforced box units as per the attached drawings and specifications. The key specifications include:
- Inside box openings of 7'-0" wide by 4'-0" high with 9" by 9" fillets at the corners.
- A skew of 30 degrees.
- Length and number of individual box units determined by the fabricator.
- Detailing of bell and spigot joints between adjacent box culvert units.
- Provision of 2 ½” lift holes and lifting apparatus.
- Designed for HL-93 loading capacity with a fill height of 1'-0" to 2'-0".
- Compliance with VDOT Precast Concrete Products QC & QA program requirements.
- Concrete must meet VDOT Class A5 standards with a minimum compressive strength of 5,000 psi. Reinforcing steel must be corrosion resistant with specific yield strength requirements. The contractor is also responsible for supplying sealant joint filler between box units.

Period of Performance
The contract period will commence from the date of award until the delivery of goods, which is non-renewable.
