IFB 159724 Hook Lift Trucks

Background
The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) is soliciting bids from qualified firms to provide Truck-Mounted Hook Lift for delivery statewide. The purpose of this contract is to ensure VDOT has the necessary equipment to support its operations effectively.

Work Details
The contractor shall provide a new Class 7 truck-mounted Kargo King Hook Lift cSeven RS-20-160 18 system and deck or approved equal. The equipment must be new, unused, and a current production model. Key specifications include:

- Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) of 39,000 lbs.
- Minimum wheelbase of 218 inches and cab to axle minimum of 156 inches.
- Front axle rating minimum of 16,000 lbs. with heavy-duty shock absorbers.
- Rear axle rating minimum of 23,000 lbs. with shock absorbers if standard equipment.
- Engine requirements include a diesel, 6-cylinder Cummins L9 or approved equal with a minimum horsepower of 330.

Delivery target time is set at 270 days from the date of the purchase order, with each unit fully assembled and ready for operation before acceptance by VDOT.

Period of Performance
The contract will be performed for one year from the date of award with an option to renew for four successive one-year periods.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed statewide across Virginia.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must demonstrate manufacturing experience by providing documentation that validates at least twenty units of the make and model bid have been sold in the United States within the previous five years. Additionally, bidders must submit descriptive product information and technical sheets as specified in the solicitation.
