IFB 159368 TOC HVAC Repair

Background
The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) is issuing this Invitation for Bids (IFB #159368) to solicit bids from qualified firms for the replacement of HVAC systems at the Traffic Operations Center (TOC) in Virginia Beach, VA.

The goal of this contract is to ensure efficient climate control within the facility, which is critical for its operations.

Work Details
The contractor shall perform the following tasks:

1. Furnish and install a new 15-ton Dual Compressor Condenser and Evaporator Coil at VDOT’s Traffic Operations Center located at 970 Reon Dr. Virginia Beach, VA 23464.
2. Reclaim refrigerant and dispose of the existing condenser and evaporator coil.
3. Install a new condenser matching specifications of Trane Condenser TTA1804 on the existing concrete pad.
4. Install a new DX Cooling Coil matching specifications of Trane model DUFB27, with provisions for installation in existing housing or complete replacement if necessary, requiring prior approval from VDOT.
5. Replace the disconnect with a like-kind unit (600-Volt, 60-Amp NEMA-3R fused unit).
6. Provide new filter driers and sight glasses.
7. Pressure test and evacuate the system to 500 microns before charging with R-454B refrigerant.
8. Reconnect electrical systems for the condenser unit.
9. Conduct a full system startup including factory startup procedures and provide operational training to VDOT staff along with two user maintenance manuals post-installation.
10. Ensure all crane operations are conducted during normal business hours without lifting over the building.

Period of Performance
The contract will commence upon award and will last for a period of 30 days, non-renewable.

The work will be performed at the Traffic Operations Center located at 970 Reon Dr., Virginia Beach, VA.
