IFB 159053 Asphalt Patching Services

Background
The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) is soliciting bids from qualified firms to provide on-call, as needed hourly rental of equipment with experienced operators and personnel for Asphalt Patching and surface treatment seal coats on primary and secondary roads in Essex, Gloucester, King & Queen, King William, Mathews, and Middlesex Counties within the Saluda Residency.

The goal of the contract is to ensure timely and efficient maintenance of road surfaces in these areas.

Work Details
The contractor shall provide all labor, supervision, equipment, transportation of equipment, and insurance necessary to complete the asphalt patching and sealing work. The scope includes:

1. Furnishing qualified labor and supervision, paving equipment, fuel, tools, parts, supplies, and all incidentals necessary for asphalt patching on various routes.
2. Working in conjunction with other VDOT maintenance operations when required.
3. Providing a minimum of one crew capable of performing the work concurrently.
4. Equipment requirements include:
- Asphalt paver (min weight 20,000 lbs) with a crew of 3 operators.
- Asphalt distributor (min 1500 gallons).
- Tandem dump trucks (min capacity 10 cubic yards).
- Steel wheel roller (3-5 tons).
- Milling machines (self-loading with specific cut capabilities).
- Self-propelled broom.
- Laborers for support tasks around the paver.
5. All materials must comply with VDOT specifications and be sourced from approved vendors.

Period of Performance
The contract period is from the date of award through one year, with options for renewal.

Place of Performance
Work will be performed in Essex, Gloucester, King & Queen, King William, Mathews, and Middlesex Counties within the Saluda Residency.
