Heat Pump Replacement - Beaverdam FS 2

Background
The Hanover County, Virginia General Services – Facilities Division is issuing a solicitation for the replacement of an existing heat pump at Fire Station 2. This project aims to ensure the efficient operation of HVAC systems within the facility, aligning with the county's commitment to maintaining public service infrastructure.

Work Details
The contractor shall provide all labor, materials, tools, equipment, services, transportation, and incidentals necessary to replace the existing heat pump at Fire Station #2 located at 16150 Trainham Road, Beaverdam, VA 23015. The scope of work includes:

1. Disconnecting and removing the existing 7.5-ton Trane heat pump;
2. Forming and pouring a concrete extension on the existing heat pump pad to accommodate the new unit size;
3. Furnishing and installing one (1) new 7.5-ton 2-stage heat pump;
4. Making all necessary mechanical/electrical connections to the new unit;
5. Disconnecting and removing the existing 7.5 AHU from the mechanical room in the attic;
6. Furnishing and installing one (1) new 2-stage AHU in the mechanical room;
7. Reworking and reconnecting power to AHU;
8. Furnishing and installing one (1) new thermostat for unit;
9. Flushing and reconnecting old line set to new system;
10. Pressure testing and pulling vacuum on the system;
11. Charging system and testing;
12. Disposing of the old system and other work-related debris.

Period of Performance
All work shall be completed within 30 calendar days after receipt of purchase order.

Place of Performance
Fire Station #2 located at 16150 Trainham Road, Beaverdam, VA 23015.

Bidder Requirements
The contractor must have a minimum of five years’ experience in performing mechanical work specific to plumbing and HVAC systems. The contractor must also possess appropriate equipment/machinery/tools in working order as per manufacturers’ instructions and VOSH regulations.
