Floating Barge Rental for Fort Wool

Background
The Commonwealth of Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources is issuing this solicitation to establish a contract for the rental of a floating barge at Fort Wool in Hampton, Virginia.
The purpose of this contract is to provide a temporary docking system that will enable safe access to the island, as the current dock is becoming increasingly unsafe for staff use.

Work Details
The contractor is required to provide the following services and equipment:
- Rental, placement, and removal of a floating barge.
- The barge must have dimensions of 40 feet long, 10 feet wide, and 5 feet high, constructed from steel.
- It should include two tie-off channels and one drop spud with specifications of 30 feet long, 14 inches in diameter, and 3/8 inches thick.
- The contractor must acquire any necessary permits for the design, transport, and installation of the floating barge.
- Installation must be completed within 1 to 2 days to minimize disruption to wildlife on the island.
- Removal of the barge should occur within one day after the contract period ends.
- The installation must be completed by the first week of April.

Period of Performance
The contract will commence upon award and continue through September 30, 2025.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at Fort Wool Island on the James River in Hampton, Virginia.
