Dynamic Shear Rheometer

Background
The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) is soliciting bids from qualified firms to furnish and install a new Dynamic Shear Rheometer (DSR). This equipment is essential for the agency's mission to ensure the quality and safety of transportation infrastructure in Virginia. The contract aims to enhance VDOT's capabilities in materials testing, particularly for asphalt and other materials used in road construction.

Work Details
The contractor shall furnish and install a new Dynamic Shear Rheometer (DSR) with the following specifications:
- Electronically commutated (EC) permanent magnet synchronous motor with high-precision air bearing.
- Integrated 360° capacitive normal force sensor (50N) and high-resolution optical encoder.
- Must be AASHTO 315 compliant and ASTM D7175 compliant.
- Features include fully automatic temperature calibration, automatic gap control, sample temperature equilibrium detection, air dryer IDG30 unit with air filter, recirculating cooler, rheometer data acquisition program with master curve data option, screw-on lower measuring plates (8 mm and 25 mm), Peltier temperature device plate and hood, along with operating, maintenance, and parts manuals.

The contractor is responsible for all labor, supervision, equipment, tools, materials, and incidentals necessary for the installation of the DSR. All work must comply with Virginia OSHA Standards and the Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Codes.

Period of Performance
The contract period will commence from the date of award until the delivery of goods is completed. The successful bidder must deliver the specified equipment within sixty (60) calendar days after receipt of order.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at VDOT Materials Division located at 6200 Elko Tract Road, Sandston, VA 23150.
