DOC-25-064 Physician Services @ Marion Correctional Treatment Center

Background
The Commonwealth of Virginia, Department of Corrections is seeking proposals for physician services at the Marion Correctional Treatment Center, located at 1110 Wright Street, Marion, Virginia 24354. The facility serves approximately 375 male inmates and requires a physician to provide care for up to 8 hours per week. The initial term of the contract will be for one year, with potential for renewal.

Work Details
The selected provider will deliver general medical services including:

- Performing physical examinations
- Prescribing medications
- Reviewing X-rays and lab reports
- Recording patient information in medical charts
- Adhering to established formularies
- Consulting with the Department’s Office of Health Services as necessary
- Making specialist referrals when needed
- Providing emergency medical services
- Offering employee health services.

The provider must submit weekly accounting of hours worked and prepare invoices for payment based on actual hours worked. Additional visits may be required in emergencies. A subcontractor or alternate physician must be approved by the Department's Health Services Director for coverage during absences.

Period of Performance
The contract will commence upon award and is set for an initial term of one year with options for four successive one-year renewals.
