Big Island Elementary & Forest Elementary Roof Painting

Background
The Bedford County Public Schools is issuing a solicitation for the roof painting project at Big Island Elementary School and Forest Elementary School, located in Bedford County, Virginia. The project aims to enhance the existing metal roofing at both schools, ensuring durability and aesthetic improvement. This contract is part of the school district's ongoing efforts to maintain and improve its facilities.

Work Details
The project consists of painting existing metal roofing at both schools. The specific tasks include:
- Prepping, priming, and painting the following components:
- Metal fascia
- Metal gutter
- Metal downspout & boot
- Metal standing seam roof
All work must comply with the specifications outlined in the project manual.

Period of Performance
The construction commencement is scheduled for May 29th, 2025, with a final completion date set for July 25th, 2025.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at two locations:
- Big Island Elementary School located at 1114 Schooldays Rd., Big Island, VA 24526
- Forest Elementary School located at One Scholar Ln., Forest, VA 24551.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must be properly licensed under Virginia law and able to obtain required insurance and bonds. A Performance Bond and a separate Labor and Material Payment Bond will be required from the successful bidder. Additionally, a bid bond of 5% of the total bid amount is required upon submission.
