A/E Services - New Market Battlefield State Historical Park Improvements

Background
The Commonwealth of Virginia, through the Virginia Military Institute (VMI), is seeking proposals for Architectural/Engineering (A/E) services for the New Market Battlefield State Historical Park Improvements.
This project is a critical component of VMI's Strategic Plan (Vision 2039) and aims to enhance facilities and infrastructure related to the Museum of the Civil War, which showcases VMI's participation in the Civil War.
The selected A/E firm must have experience in designing general facilities and infrastructure in a higher education setting.

Work Details
The selected A/E will provide comprehensive design and construction period services as outlined in the Commonwealth of Virginia Construction and Professional Services Manual.
Key tasks include:
- Refining VMI’s project description;
- Developing Schematic Design by July 6, 2025;
- Creating a Preliminary Design submission by October 31, 2025;
- Preparing complete construction contract documents;
- Ensuring compliance with applicable codes and regulations;
- Developing Erosion and Sediment Control Plans;
- Coordinating with local utility providers;
- Preparing cost estimates;
- Representing VMI in presentations to state agencies;
- Assisting in bidding and award processes;
- Providing construction phase services as required.

Period of Performance
The contract will be executed as a single project service with specific milestones for design submissions set for July 6, 2025, and October 31, 2025.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at the Virginia Military Institute located in Lexington, Virginia.
