Background
The Dowell J. Howard Center, operated by Frederick County Public Schools, is undergoing a renovation project to convert an existing Building Trades lab into two new specialized labs: a Data Science Lab and a Diesel Engine Lab. This project aims to enhance educational facilities and provide modern learning environments for students in Winchester, Virginia.

Work Details
The renovation includes the following key components:

1. Conversion of Room 106 into two separate spaces for a Data Science Lab and a Diesel Engine Lab.

2. Installation of three new rooftop mechanical units and two ground-mounted mechanical units to replace existing systems. An additional mechanical unit is included as an Additive Bid Alternate.

3. The contractor must ensure that areas not designated for demolition are protected from damage during construction.

4. All existing equipment, materials, and furnishings will be removed by the owner prior to the start of work.

5. The contractor is responsible for verifying existing conditions and coordinating with architectural, mechanical, and electrical drawings.

Period of Performance
The contract work is scheduled to be completed by September 12, 2024.
