Background
The contract is issued by Hanover County, Virginia, for the provision of necessary medical, dental, mental health, and pharmacy services for the Pamunkey Regional Jail Authority. The jail is currently ACA accredited and the expectation is that the Contractor will maintain current accreditation. The Jail is a 519-bed adult detention facility located in Hanover County, VA, housing both pre-trial and sentenced offenders for the counties of Hanover, Caroline and the Town of Ashland.
The facility must have 24-hour medical services.

Work Details
The primary objective of this contract is to provide necessary medical, dental, mental health, and pharmacy services for the Pamunkey Regional Jail Authority. The services shall meet standards of care consistent with federal, state, and local law, as well as the standards required by American Correctional Association (ACA). The Contractor must have experience in providing Correctional Facility medical, mental health, and dental care.
The services shall apply to all inmates that are housed in or in the custody of the Jail and all inmates working under the provision of the Jail’s Work Force program.
Detailed requirements include on-site medical services program, on-site dental services program, on-site mental health care delivery program, off-site preferred provider network of hospitals, physicians, and other ancillary medical providers to provide medically necessary services to inmates which cannot be provided on-site at the Jail.

Period of Performance
The period of contract performance is from a date to be determined through negotiations through June 30, 2025 (Renewable).

Place of Performance
The contract will be performed at Pamunkey Regional Jail Authority located at 7240 Courtland Farm Road, Hanover, VA 23069.
