Background
Norfolk Public Schools (NPS) is a large urban school division in Norfolk, Virginia, serving approximately 30,000 students with a diverse staff of over 4,600 employees across 52 facilities. The division's mission is to ensure that all children achieve high levels of education. The contract aims to solicit bids for the removal and replacement of roofing and HVAC systems at the Child Nutrition Services facility.

Work Details
The project involves the following tasks:
1. Removal and replacement of all existing roofing system assembly.
2. Structural roof deck repair as indicated in the specifications.
3. Installation of a new specified roofing system assembly using materials provided by the Owner, supplemented by additional materials as necessary for a complete and warrantable roofing system.
4. Installation of metal wall panels at vertical masonry walls where indicated.
5. Installation of metal fabrications as specified.
6. Removal and re-installation of HVAC equipment along with their related supporting utilities.
7. Installation of new HVAC equipment and their related supporting utilities.
8. Provision for the removal and disposal of identified hazardous materials.

Period of Performance
The contract period will commence upon issuance of the Purchase Order or Notice to Proceed and will continue through December 2025.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at Child Nutrition Services, located at 974 Bellmore Avenue, Norfolk, VA 23504.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must have been actively engaged in providing similar services for at least five years and must possess a Class 'A' contractor's license as per Virginia law. Additionally, bidders are required to submit a Small Business Procurement Plan detailing subcontractors involved in the project.
