159193 Lowboy Equipment Hauling Services

Background
The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) is soliciting bids from qualified firms to provide Lowboy Equipment Hauling Services within Arlington, Fairfax, Loudoun, and Prince William County in VDOT’s Northern Virginia District.

Services may also be requested for Maryland. The goal of this contract is to ensure efficient and compliant transportation of various types of heavy equipment as needed by VDOT.

Work Details
The contractor shall provide lowboy equipment hauling services which include all labor, equipment, fuel, supplies, tools, supervision, transportation, delivery, permits, and all direct and indirect overhead costs associated with providing this service.

Equipment to be hauled may consist of graders, backhoes, loaders, trucks, bridge fabrication supplies, and road barricades. The contractor must ensure compliance with industry transportation standards and all applicable DOT regulations. They must have the capacity to perform work even if they have other contractual responsibilities.

The contractor is required to own or possess all necessary hauling equipment and tools for loading and unloading non-operational equipment. Additionally, they must provide a minimum of two lowboys for simultaneous hauling if required by VDOT.

Period of Performance
The contract will be performed for one year from the date of award with two optional one-year renewals.

Place of Performance
The services will be performed in Arlington, Fairfax, Loudoun, and Prince William Counties in Virginia.

Additionally, services may be requested for locations in Maryland.
