159088 Hauling Services - Prince William & Arlington

Background
The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) is seeking bids from qualified firms to provide as-needed trucks with operators for general hauling services in Prince William and Arlington Counties, Northern Virginia. This contract aims to supplement VDOT crews in their operations.

Work Details
The contractor will provide dump trucks with qualified operators, supervision, fuel, tools, parts, supplies, and all necessary incidentals for safe and efficient operation. The services include hauling asphalt from local plants to state projects and transporting materials such as fill dirt, stone, soil from ditching operations, broken concrete, rip rap, and trash and debris from state maintenance yards to landfills.

Additionally, during significant snowfall events, contractors may be required to haul snow from roadways to designated disposal areas. Specific requirements include:
- For Prince William Residency: Three (3) Tandem-axle dump trucks.
- For Arlington/Interstate Maintenance: Five (5) Tri-axle and five (5) Tandem-axle dump trucks.

All trucks must meet specified conditions including being in good mechanical condition and compliant with safety regulations. The contractor must ensure that all drivers possess valid Commercial Driver’s Licenses and have a good knowledge of the Northern Virginia road system.

Period of Performance
The contract will be effective for one year from the date of award with four optional one-year renewal periods.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed in Prince William and Arlington Counties within the Northern Virginia District.
