UNT Discovery Park H-Wing Research Labs

Background
The University of North Texas System (UNTS) is issuing a Request for Competitive Sealed Proposals (RFCSP752-25-999ER) for the renovation of the H-Wing at Discovery Park, located at 3940 N. Elm Street, Denton, Texas.

The project aims to convert underutilized spaces into laboratory environments to support research in the Department of Material Science Engineering, thereby helping to maintain grant funding.

Work Details
The scope of work includes:
1. Buildout of two (2) research labs equipped with fume hoods and benches.
2. Construction of an office for Risk Management staff.
3. Buildout of an office for Asset Management staff, including areas for equipment and secure storage.
4. Installation of a new HVAC system and lab exhaust system.
5. Installation of a new electrical transformer.
6. Minor sitework to accommodate four (4) exterior chiller units.
7. Minor roof work and patching as required.

Note: Fire sprinkler, fire alarm security camera, and data cabling will be handled by UNT vendors and are not included in the general contractor's scope.

Period of Performance
The anticipated start date for the project is February 2025, with substantial completion expected by September 2025.

The contract will be performed at Discovery Park, located at 3940 N. Elm Street, Denton, Texas 76207.
