TDCJ Commissary Request for Information

Background
The Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) is seeking information regarding products for resale to incarcerated inmates at State Prison Facilities. The agency's mission is to provide public safety, promote positive change in offender behavior, reintegrate offenders into society, and assist victims of crime.

Work Details
The TDCJ is seeking information on various products including beverages, chips/crackers, grocery items, cookies/candy, fish/meat, houseware, health/beauty products, shoes, clothing, electrical items, ice cream, and specialty items. The solicitation specifies the types of products desired such as sugar-free drinks, flavored water, meal replacement drinks, various types of chips and crackers, dehydrated vegetables and fruits, cookies and candy bars, bacon and beef sticks, plastic/silicone bowls with lids, bar soap and body lotions, walking tennis shoes for men and women, moisture-wicking shirts and gym shorts for clothing. Additionally, it includes electrical items like clear typewriters and radios with headphones. The solicitation also lists pharmaceutical items such as vitamins and medications.

Period of Performance
Responses to this Request for Information (RFI) must be sent to TDCJ Contracts and Procurement no later than 3:00 PM on March 8, 2024.
The deadline for questions is Thursday March 7, 2024 by 3:00 p.m.

Place of Performance
The contract will be performed at State Prison Facilities under the jurisdiction of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.
