Post-Bill Medical Coding Auditing Services

Background
The Tarrant County Hospital District, known as JPS Health Network, is a tax-supported organization dedicated to serving the healthcare needs of families across Tarrant County. The District operates John Peter Smith Hospital, a Level I Trauma Center, and provides a wide range of healthcare services including inpatient care, specialty care, and behavioral health services.

The District is seeking proposals for Post-Bill Medical Coding Auditing Services to ensure compliance with coding guidelines and improve billing accuracy.

Work Details
The selected vendor will provide comprehensive post-billing medical coding audit services, which include:
- Performing audits on various chart types: Inpatient (1070), Emergency (569), Same Day Surgery/Observation (932), and Outpatient (3357).
- Conducting thorough reviews of medical records to verify that assigned codes are supported by documentation and comply with current coding guidelines.
- Auditing inpatient accounts for principal diagnosis, secondary code assignments, major complications, procedure code assignments, DRG validation, and discharge disposition.
- Auditing outpatient accounts for primary diagnosis, secondary code assignments, primary procedures, APC validation, and modifiers.
- Providing detailed reports with audit findings and accuracy rates for each audited element.
- Ensuring cooperation with the District in establishing system access according to policies.
- Providing all necessary office supplies and equipment for the auditing process.

Period of Performance
The contract term is proposed to be three years with two additional one-year renewal options. The District may exercise renewal options by providing written notice at least 30 days prior to the expiration of the current term.

Place of Performance
Services will be performed at the Tarrant County Hospital District d/b/a JPS Health Network located in Fort Worth, Texas.
