Mowing/Maintenance of Medians, ROW, and Urban Trails

Background
The City of Austin's Transportation & Public Works Department is issuing this contract to provide grounds maintenance services for selected medians, property lots or parcels, rights-of-way (ROWs), and urban trails within the City limits.
The purpose of this contract is to ensure that these areas are maintained in a manner that meets the City's standards and requirements.
It may be utilized variably as the needs of the City change and is intended to be awarded by zones to distinct Contractors based on qualified proposals.

Work Details
The Contractor will provide grounds maintenance services including but not limited to:
- Mowing tall grass and weeds
- Removal of brush, rubbish, trash, and trimmings
- String trimming around building perimeters, poles, fences, guardrail posts, bridge railings, and trees
- Light/moderate clearing of debris
- Heavy clearing requiring heavy equipment
- Tire handling and disposal
- Trash/litter pickup and removal

Adherence to safety regulations during operations is required. Specific tasks include regular mowing (maintaining grass height between 2-4 inches), ensuring cut grass does not accumulate against structures, reporting service areas needing chemical applications for better control, and providing necessary equipment for all services performed. The Contractor must also comply with environmental regulations regarding emissions and chemical use.

Period of Performance
The initial term of the contract is thirty-six months (36) with the possibility of extension for up to two (2) additional twelve (12) month periods at the City's discretion.

Place of Performance
Services will be performed within the City limits of Austin, Texas across designated zones which include various medians, ROWs, property lots or parcels, and urban trails.
