Lab Specimen Courier Services DSSLC

Background
The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) is an agency within the Texas Health and Human Services (HHS) system.

The Procurement and Contracting Services (PCS) division of HHSC administers Invitations for Bids (IFBs) for HHS. HHSC PCS is seeking competitive bids to establish contracts for courier delivery service for the transport of specimens to either of two labs on behalf of Denton State Supported Living Center. Both HHS Agencies, HHSC and DSHS, will be entitled to use any contract awarded as a result of this IFB.

Work Details
The required services include courier delivery for the transport of specimens such as blood, urine, stool, and COVID testing samples.

Specimens must be delivered in tamper-proof containers within a temperature-controlled environment. The contractor must respond to the facility within 30 minutes of notice from DSSLC and deliver all specimens within 30 minutes from pick-up at DSSLC to the specified lab. The contractor must be available 24/7, including weekends and holidays, and may be expected to make multiple deliveries per day. ABG specimens must be delivered within 5-10 minutes from pick-up at DSSLC.

Service locations include Denton State Supported Living Centers at 3000 N Interstate 35 and 3535 S Interstate 35 in Denton, TX.

Period of Performance
The anticipated contract start date is September 1, 2024.
