Ice Skating Rink

Background
The City of DeSoto, Texas, is seeking proposals from qualified Ice-Skating Rink Management Companies to purchase, install, operate, maintain, and store an outdoor seasonal Ice-Skating Rink for public use.
The goal of this contract is to provide a recreational facility that enhances community engagement and offers a seasonal activity for residents and visitors.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for the following services:
1. Purchase and installation of an outdoor seasonal Ice-Skating Rink;
2. Operation and maintenance of the rink during the operational period;
3. Removal and storage of the rink after the season ends;
4. Provision of all necessary equipment including a rink piping grid system (70’ x 45’ or 80’ x 35’), glycol, air-cooled chiller, pumps, hoses, skate rental equipment, ticket sales area structure, portable sound system, and compliance with city codes;
5. Management of daily operations including staffing for skate rentals and safety monitoring;
6. Project management for installation and removal;
7. Compliance with all local regulations regarding safety and operations.

Period of Performance
The contract will have an initial term of one year with options for two additional yearly renewals based on performance evaluations.
The specific schedule includes: Rink Installation from November 1 to November 23,
Opening to the Public from November 24 to January 7,
and Rink Removal from January 7 to January 22.

Place of Performance
The services will be performed at a designated location within the City of DeSoto, Texas.
