HVAC Replacement in El Paso

Background
The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) is undertaking a minor construction project to replace the HVAC system at their facility located at 11612 Scott Simpson, El Paso, TX 79936. The goal of this contract is to ensure the installation of a new HVAC system that meets the operational needs of the facility while adhering to safety and quality standards.

Work Details
The contractor will provide all labor, materials, and equipment necessary for the removal and disposal of existing HVAC units and installation of new systems. Specifically, the work includes:
- Removal of 4 existing hydronic split system units and 1 packaged unit.
- Installation of 4 new hydronic split system units and 1 new packaged unit with electric heat, including confirmation of tonnage for each unit.
- Installation of four digital programmable thermostats for hydronic systems.
- Integration of new air handlers into existing ductwork according to SMACNA standards.
- Replacement of existing disconnects and whips to each unit, ensuring compliance with National Electric Code (NEC).
- Replacement of refrigerant piping with new type L hard copper tubing.
- Cleaning and replacement of supply and return grilles in specified rooms to enhance airflow.
- Provision for startup services and warranty on materials and labor.
- Engagement of an independent certified Test and Balance Company to perform testing as per specifications.

Period of Performance
The exact period for performance will be coordinated once the bid award is made. It is expected that all work will be completed in as few calendar days as possible to minimize disruption to DPS operations.
