Background
The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio (UTHSA) is the largest academic research institution in South Texas, with a mission to enhance lives through education, research, health care, and community engagement. UTHSA has an annual research portfolio of approximately $413 million and is designated as a Hispanic-Serving Institution. The university's professional schools have graduated over 43,886 alumni who contribute significantly to health care advancements.

UTHSA is expanding its outreach efforts with the opening of the new $472 million Multispecialty and Research Hospital in December 2024, aiming to enhance access to advanced medical care and specialized oncology services. The Office of Institutional Advancement seeks proposals for a Fundraising Consultant to develop and implement a Grateful Patient program targeting diverse donor demographics.

Work Details
The selected consultant will provide operational guidance services for fundraising consulting, focusing on the following areas:

A. Assessment and Planning: Conduct a needs assessment of current grateful patient efforts; develop a comprehensive strategic plan; establish measurable fundraising goals.

B. Strategy Development: Design strategic campaigns; segment potential donor groups; refine the case for support.

C. Implementation Support: Manage campaign execution; train staff on best practices in fundraising; recommend best practices for using existing software tools.

D. Marketing and Communications: Create marketing materials; develop public relations strategies.

E. Evaluation and Reporting: Establish performance metrics; provide regular reports on campaign progress.

F. Compliance and Best Practices: Ensure compliance with legal standards; advise on industry trends.

G. Special Projects: Offer ongoing consultation as needed.

H. Deliverables include a comprehensive fundraising plan document, campaign materials, training session documentation, and regular performance reports.

Period of Performance
The contract period will commence upon award and is expected to continue through the implementation phases of the Grateful Patient program as outlined in the proposal.

Place of Performance
The services will be performed at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, located at 7703 Floyd Curl Drive, San Antonio, Texas 78229-3900.
