The Texas A&M University System Office of Facilities Planning & Construction (FP&C) on behalf of the Board of Regents of The Texas A&M University System (Owner) and Texas A&M Health are soliciting statements of qualifications for selection of an Architect/Engineer (A/E) firm for the Alkek IBT Building Lab Expansion/Renovation & EnMed Build-out project (#23-3320) at Texas A&M Health in Houston, Texas, in accordance with the terms, conditions, and requirements set forth in this Request for Qualifications (RFQ).

Background
The Texas A&M University System Office of Facilities Planning & Construction (FP&C) is soliciting statements of qualifications for the selection of an Architect/Engineer (A/E) firm for the Alkek IBT Building Lab Expansion/Renovation & EnMed Build-out project (#23-3320) at Texas A&M Health in Houston, Texas.

This initiative aims to renovate and upgrade spaces in the Albert B. Alkek Building and build out spaces in Discovery Tower to enhance the university's presence around the Texas Medical Center in Houston.

Work Details
The project is programmed in three stages:
1) Relocation of the Texas A&M Health's Institute of Biosciences and Technology (IBT) administrative offices from the Alkek Building to Discovery Tower, which includes building out 8,750 square feet of shell space on one floor to accommodate two director suites, thirty administrative offices, and associated collaboration and support spaces.

2) Renovation of two vacated floors (2nd and 11th) and a partially vacant 7th floor in the Alkek Building into fully equipped research spaces.

3) Upgrading the 4th, 5th, and 6th floors into cutting-edge research spaces after the relocation of research activities. The renovations will also involve reconfiguring and replacing building utility systems (HVAC, gas lines, distilled water, etc.) to facilitate flexible laboratory layouts while keeping the Alkek Building occupied throughout the project.

Period of Performance
The qualifications must be submitted by April 15, 2025. Specific timelines for each phase of construction are not detailed in the solicitation.
