Roof Replacement Avondale Head Start

Background
The City of Chattanooga, Tennessee, is seeking contractors for the Avondale Head Start Roof Replacement project. The goal of this contract is to replace the existing metal roof system with a new standing seam metal roof system, ensuring the safety and functionality of the facility used for early childhood education.

Work Details
The scope of work includes approximately 13,000 square feet of new standing seam metal roof system and respective accessories. The contractor will be responsible for the removal and abatement of an existing metal roof, including hazardous material abatement. Specific tasks include:

1) Abatement of approximately 14,000 square feet of asbestos-containing coating on top of the metal roofing (2% chrysotile).

2) Stabilization of loose and peeling lead-based paint from two window dormers on the metal roof section.

3) Installation of roof accessories such as roof curbs and gravity ventilators.

4) Installation of rail-type snow guards to prevent snow accumulation on the roof.

Period of Performance
The contract duration is set for 165 calendar days from the start date, which is to be determined upon contract award.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at Avondale Head Start located at 2302 Ocoee Street, Chattanooga, TN 37406.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must comply with all local regulations regarding asbestos and lead paint abatement. They must also have appropriate certifications for performing such work. The contractor is responsible for obtaining all necessary permits prior to construction and ensuring that all personnel are trained in OSHA health and safety standards.
