Nashville Fire Department Fire Station 24 Design and Construction Services

Background
The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County (Metro) is seeking proposals for the design and construction of a new 3 Bay Fire Station for the Nashville Fire Department. This project aims to enhance public safety services in the area by providing a modern facility that meets operational needs. The fire station will be located at 3500 John Mallette Dr., Nashville, TN, 37218, on Metro-owned property.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for the complete design and construction services of a new fire station approximately 20,487 square feet in size, situated on about 1.5 acres of land. The project includes:

- Construction of a facility similar to Metro's current prototype fire stations, specifically referencing Station 32 completed in 2020.
- Provision of 42 parking spaces, including two handicap-accessible spaces.
- Initial scope of work includes program verification, site constraints analysis, conceptual design alternatives (up to three schemes), schematic design, design development, construction documents preparation, community meeting visuals, progress meetings, schedule development and updates, bid package strategies, and cost statements at various stages.
- The contractor must ensure LEED certification at Gold level and demonstrate experience with similar projects.

Period of Performance
The contract period will commence upon award and is expected to include pre-construction services leading up to substantial completion. Specific timelines for phases will be established during the project.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must comply with all licensing requirements as per Tennessee law for projects exceeding $25,000. They must provide evidence of a drug-free workplace program and demonstrate good faith efforts towards M/WBE participation with established goals of 10% for Minority Business Enterprises (MBE) and 7% for Women Business Enterprises (WBE). A Payment and Performance Bond is required for contracts exceeding $100,000.
