Nashville Fire Department Fire Station 24 Design and Construction Services

Background
The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County (Metro) is seeking proposals from qualified contractors for the design and construction of a new 3 Bay Fire Station for the Nashville Fire Department.

The project aims to enhance public safety services by providing a modern facility located at 3500 John Mallette Dr., Nashville, TN, 37218. This initiative aligns with Metro's commitment to sustainable development and efficient service delivery.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for the complete design and construction of a new 3 Bay Fire Station, approximately 20,487 square feet on 1.5 acres of land. The project includes:
- Site Test Fit and basic project information
- Construction of a facility similar to Metro's current prototype, specifically referencing Station 32 completed in 2020.
- Provision of 42 parking spaces, including 2 handicap spaces.

The initial scope of work includes program verification, site constraints analysis, conceptual design alternatives, schematic design, design development, construction documents, community meetings, progress meetings, schedule development and updates, bid package strategies, and cost statements at various stages.

The contractor must ensure LEED Gold certification for the project and demonstrate experience in similar projects.

Period of Performance
The contract period will commence upon award and is expected to include pre-construction services leading up to the substantial completion date which is yet to be determined.

The work will be performed at the Metro-owned property located at 3500 John Mallette Dr., Nashville, TN, 37218.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must comply with Tennessee licensing requirements for contractors as outlined in the Contractors Licensing Act of 1976. A Payment and Performance Bond is required for contracts exceeding $100,000. Additionally, bidders must demonstrate good faith efforts to meet established MBE (10%) and WBE (7%) participation goals as part of the Equal Business Opportunity Program.
