The Board of County Commissioners, Highlands County, Florida hereby gives notice that it intends to secure an annual bid for Avon Park Estates Special Benefit District and County owned roadside areas mowing services. Awarded
Bidder will provide right-of-way Large Machine Mowing/Maintenance for the District area that is approximately 250 acres and provide right-of-way Large Machine Mowing/Maintenance for County Owned area that is approximately 50 acres. Large Machine Mowing encompasses the routinely mowed areas of the public rights of way and median.
Background
The Board of County Commissioners, Highlands County, Florida, intends to secure an annual bid for mowing services in the Avon Park Estates Special Benefit District and County-owned roadside areas. The goal of this contract is to maintain the aesthetic and functional quality of public rights-of-way and medians through regular mowing services.

Work Details
The awarded bidder will provide right-of-way Large Machine Mowing/Maintenance for approximately 250 acres in the District area and 50 acres in County-owned areas. This includes routinely mowed areas of public rights-of-way and median strips located from County Road 64 to W Tannen Rd, W Woodall Rd, W Little Rd, S Nitschke Rd to Jurgenson Rd, Harrisburg Rd to Jurgenson Rd, S Reed Rd to S Warfield Rd, and S Cole Ave to W Scott Rd. The median on S Avon Estates Blvd is also included.

The contractor must complete each mowing cycle within 20 calendar days of initiation, with an estimated minimum of 6 cycles per year (approximately 7 cycles total). Additional cycles and acreage may be added at the County's discretion at the awarded bid price. All necessary equipment and personnel must be provided by the contractor, which should include safety features on all mowing equipment. The contractor is responsible for maintaining a clean cut and uniform distribution of cuttings while adhering to safety regulations.

Period of Performance
The contract will be effective for one year from the date of Board approval, with options for three additional one-year renewals upon mutual agreement.

Place of Performance
The mowing services will be performed in various locations within Highlands County, specifically in the Avon Park Estates Special Benefit District and other designated roadside areas.
