Envelope Repairs Window Replacement At Pickens-Sal

Background
The University of South Carolina is issuing a contract for envelope repairs at the Pickens Salley building located in Aiken, South Carolina. The project aims to enhance the structural integrity and aesthetic appeal of the building's exterior by addressing issues related to siding, trim, and window glazing. This contract is part of the agency's ongoing efforts to maintain and improve its facilities.

Work Details
The base bid work includes:
1. Complete removal of all siding and trim (to be reused).
2. Minor structural repairs/modifications to sheathing/substrate.
3. Installation of a new air/moisture underlayment system.
4. Reinstallation of siding with new trim/accessories.
5. Preparation, priming, and application of two coats of paint for all exterior wood surfaces.
6. Removal and replacement of wood window glazing putty (exterior).

Period of Performance
The contract duration is established as 60 calendar days from the Date of Commencement, which will be specified in a Notice to Proceed issued by the Agency.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at the University of South Carolina's Pickens Salley building located at 319 Scholar Loop, Aiken, SC 29801.

Bidder Requirements
Contractors must provide a Performance Bond and Labor & Material Payment Bond prior to beginning work, each in the amount of 100% of the Contract Sum. The surety company providing the bonds must have a minimum 'Best Rating' of 'A'. Additionally, contractors are encouraged to participate in small and minority business initiatives.
