Use of the University of Rhode Island's W. Alton Jones Campus

Background
The University of Rhode Island Board of Trustees is seeking informational responses from qualified offerors for potential uses of the W. Alton Jones Campus in West Greenwich, Rhode Island. This campus has been utilized since 1964 for research, educational programs, and as a conference center, environmental education facility, summer camps, and historic farm.

The University is developing a ten-year comprehensive campus plan and is looking for proposals that align with its mission as a land grant institution while not interfering with existing research and educational activities.

Work Details
Proposals are sought primarily for the use and/or management of the Whispering Pines Conference Center on the W. Alton Jones Campus. Proposers may suggest exclusive uses for the conference center and surrounding land or shared program use of the Environmental Education Center (EEC) and Woodvale Farm areas.

The University will retain control over approximately 785 acres for research and education purposes. Proposed uses must adhere to restrictions including prohibiting industrial or commercial retail uses, extensive parking facilities, residential subdivisions, clear-cutting forested areas, commercial solar arrays, wind power generation, and amusement parks.

Proposers are responsible for all aspects of design, construction (if applicable), operations, maintenance, permitting, and operational expenses.

Period of Performance
The timeline for project implementation will be defined by the proposer in their response, including a target date for full operation.

The contract will be performed at the W. Alton Jones Campus located in West Greenwich, Rhode Island.
